POSITION PURPOSE: The University of California, Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC ANR) is seeking a Master Food Preserver (MFP)/Food Entrepreneurship Academic Coordinator I to develop and oversee an annual statewide plan that implements the priorities established by the current Nutrition Family and Consumer Science (NFCS) Strategic Plan. The academic coordinator will serve as a liaison between MFP and NFCS administration to assist with understanding and implementation of MFP, NFCS, UC and ANR policies and activities and coordinate with the Program Integration Coordinator, Strategic Initiative Leaders and Cooperative Extension (CE) advisors to establish program priorities while forging cross-initiative and interdisciplinary collaboration and program delivery. The incumbent will support the distribution of research-based information to MFPs, working with the appropriate CE specialists, CE advisors, and Agricultural Experiment Station faculty and lead the continuing education of MFP program staff on advanced volunteer management and extension methods. In addition, the academic coordinator will supervise the MFP state office staff person and administer the continuing education opportunities in food safety and food preservation for MFPs.
