My wife and I were at Chico State University last weekend visting our son who is attending college there. I learned of the “Hungry Wildcat Food Pantry” on campus there that provides food through its pantry to students who are experiencing low to severe “food insecurity” where 50% of Chico State’s students experience “food insecurity” due to the high cost of tuition and housing where a student simply cannot afford nutritious food.
This information surprised and saddened me where my wife and I believe that no one should go hungry.
Sonoma State University also has a food pantry “Lobos Pantry” where its data shows that 40% of its students experience low to severe “food insecurity” in our county.
For those who were not aware of “food insecurity” on college campuses in this state and are willing to help a college food pantry to assist our future then this “impact notice” has made many of us generous people who use CropMobster make a difference. Donations to the college food pantries at the two California State schools mentioned can be by way of actual food or a monetary donation.
