Be Inspired about the important role living soils play in healthy plants, better nutrition, water conservation and in storing carbon which can help slow climate change
Investigate the nature of interdependence by considering how matter cycles and energy flows in a soil ecosystem to better understand the role of decomposition in a school garden compost pile. Instructors will share soil based investigations that use NGSS practices!
Dig into compost-making in the garden from hot piles to using worms! Learn how to regenerate lifeless soils into healthy ecosystems

School gardens provide living laboratories for investigation-based learning. Working with soils gets kids outside and engaged in learning by doing. Teaching about soil prepares our students to better understand their world and to conserve natural resources throughout their lives. This workshop is geared for grades 2-5. NGSS used.
